family, candy, volleyball, and art

Dan’s Aunt SAM and cousin Juliane came to town from Virginia for the big Denver high school volleyball tournament downtown.

We took SAM to the Med for dinner in Boulder and killed some time in a candy store while we waited for our table.

While we were there, I picked up three of my new all time favorite candy bars.  Almonds and Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate by Boulder based all natural/organic chocolate company Chocolove.  Even if you dislike any of those things separately – RUN, don’t walk, to your nearest place of candy and try them together.  It is similar to putting salt on watermelon.  Oh-Emm-Gee it is so good!  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Parden my tangent!

We also got to see Juliane play and we are excited to have her in New Mexico for college ball next year.  Hope we get to see her when she comes to play in CO!

Is it already nearly Wednesday?  I always welcome Wednesday after having made it through my Tuesday.  I know Tuesdays are hard.  I’ve talked about it before but I am still always so surprised when I am disliking life and having to give myself constant pep talks during the day!

It’s over.  I made it through another week – things are all downhill from here!

Truth be told, I have been a little “off” lately which is exactly why I wanted to play along with Kal’s cool 5 day/5 ways art challenge.  She chose the word DOOR and I might still try to squeak in some art time for my thoughts but between trying a new recipe tonight and our awesome landlord fixing our dryer, I didn’t get to execute my art brainstorm.  But that’s okay because part of the art challenge is to just get me thinking and thinking I did.  So, (I really hesitate to say this right now for fear of back peddling) I really hope to put into practice this idea of being less off and more ON.

Adam, despite Jen’s hearty endorsement, I still believe these to be inferior to the Green and Blacks 70% dark chocolate, which Nature’s Panty also carries.

“Don’t you bring that weak 55% cocoa action! You go strong to the cocoa or you don’t go at all!” – TJ from Sonic

If you’re feeling weak, their Milk bars are also quite good, along with their ice cream.

Hi Adam, I’m doing pretty well. I wish El Nino would get outta here so we could get some big spring storms, but otherwise life is good.
