Baby Tyson :: a fun photoshoot

I have known Monica all her life although I don’t remember meeting her since I do believe I was only two at the time.  Our families have been friends since Moms and Tots when my mom and her mom, Julie, got to know each other.  I’ve heard stories of what we used to do together back in the day and about the time when our moms let us get chicken pox together so they could take turns taking days off work.  I do believe many of my early childhood pictures are with Monica, her brother Matt, and me in silly poses standing in knee deep swimming pools, or in the driveway with paper bags on our heads, or staying up way past our bedtimes at their awesome Christmas parties.  Those were the days.

And now…I’m sure Monica and her husband Dan just wish they could go to bed on time rather than 4AM.

Enter sweet tiny Tyson.

Despite the lack of sleep, it is easy to see that Monica and Dan are quite smitten with this little fellow.   And, who can blame them?  I got to meet their bundle of joy when he was just 12 days old.  We decided to try an impromptu little photo shoot with the little guy.  Since none of us had done this before, we set to work gathering blankets and getting baby warm.  I clicked away while my team of helpers pitched in heating up and holding up blankets.

Just take a look at this little cutie.

Apparently he has his Daddy’s toes.

All I see is cute!

Now, wasn’t that fun!

Top 5 Things I Learned From My First Baby Photo Shoot:

1.  Warm blankets up in the dryer to keep the little one toasty.

2.  Take pictures during daylight hours because using kitchen overhead lighting at night in the winter time just doesn’t cut it.

3.  Remove diaper in advance to avoid diaper wrinklies.

4.  Run hands under hair dryer to take care of ice cube fingers while touching baby softness

5.  Get more pics with the proud parents (and grandparents!)

And now a quick peek at our behind the scenes footage.

Grandma had to get a few of her own pictures…

Congrats to you, Monica and Dan – Tyson is a keeper!

      Thanks Katherine,
I think you are actually supposed to crank up the heat to keep baby warm but we were being spontaneous and didn’t have time for that. 🙂
